If you get to the end of your sandwich and then realize that you would like to have had pickles on it, also realize that while you were eating it, it tasted good enough not to stop and put pickles on and was therefore still a good sandwich.

When thinking about future goals, make sure the path to the goal is appealing. It is less important to reach the goal than have a good path, as the path winds up being the main activity.
